Traffic police will fine co-pilots who go asleep without paying attention on road
Last Tuesday, City council approved a new law about vehicular traffic and road traffic safety. The law will enter into force in October upon posting in the official gazette.
Some of the reforms adopted in the new law will directly affect to co-pilot. The most relevant provisions being Articles 14.3 “Those who take the co-pilot place in the vehicle will require all the attention to prevent any distractions. Therefore they cannot sleep along the way and it will be considered a big infraction with a minimum penalty of $200”.
